Rollins Wood has been created as a local arboretum by trying to cultivate as many native British trees as we can. This page tells something of the trees you can see on the trail which are less common locally. We are adding labels to many trees – see if you can spot them as you walk round, or download a tree ID sheet showing our species here.

every year we measure two dozen of our trees to see how they have grown. Their Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) typically increases by a few centimetres. The data from 2024 is here.

Guelder Rose – a pretty small tree or shrub. The berries are not edible, sadly
